EarthCam Debuts World’s First Live Video Channel Focused on Construction Jobsites

Unique Content To Be Webcast in Partnership with McGraw-Hill Construction

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New York, February 14, 2014 -- For lovers of all things construction, EarthCam has the perfect Valentine’s Day present. The innovator in webcam technology is premiering its new ConstructionCamTV – a 24-hour “TV channel” devoted to a global network of live construction cameras and educational time-lapse movies.

Live streaming and time-lapse video will showcase how starchitects Frank Gehry, Jean Nouvel, Zaha Hadid and Norman Forster combine design and technology to create monumental works of art. Viewers will be transported to projects including leading medical centers, major league stadiums, sophisticated skyscrapers and complex bridges.  Travel to jobsites from the Middle East to South America where some of the most notable projects come to life with impressive hand-edited time-lapse photography. While watching a decade of work at the World Trade Center compressed into three minutes, it’s plain to see how leading edge technology has transformed the construction industry.

“ConstructionCamTV is the ‘reality television’ of the building industry,” said Brian Cury, CEO and Founder of EarthCam. “We’ve created video wallpaper that connects people around the world to some of the most amazing jobsites.  They can explore and learn about the extraordinary efforts being made today by contractors, developers, engineers and architects.”

McGraw-Hill Construction will exclusively feature ConstructionCamTV content on their ENR.com website. A leading publication in the construction industry, the broadcast-quality streams will engage visitors and amplify the content currently on the website.

“We’re pleased that EarthCam has chosen ENR as their core platform to promote ConstructionCamTV to the construction community. With more than 250,000 unique visitors per month, ENR.com will introduce this compelling live video feed to the industry’s most active construction teams,” said Paul Bonington, VP & Publisher ENR.

ConstructionCamTV is proactively programmed by EarthCam’s broadcast directors, who will change the scheduled lineup every 5 to 15 minutes in order to feature breaking news stories or special events around the world. Local time and detailed weather information is displayed for each jobsite. In addition, a running ticker on the bottom of the screen gives the viewer interesting information about the construction project they’re currently watching. Turn up the volume to hear the audio from the camera stream or thematic background music. All of these features are customizable using a graphical display and can be set based on user preference, further enhancing a full widescreen viewing experience.

ConstructionCamTV is the second live streaming channel launched by EarthCam. EarthCamTV debuted in August 2013, featuring live views from the webcam network’s collection of scenic and destination cameras around the world. Viewers can travel from Abbey Road in London to Times Square in New York to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil and more.
