EarthCam Constructs New Headquarters in Pursuit of LEED Certification Webcam Facility to Utilize Eco-Friendly Materials for Environmental Sustainability FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New York, March 23, 2016 -- EarthCam continues to make great progress for the construction of its new headquarters in Northern New Jersey and recently announced two new companies that have joined its project team. With their focus on the pursuit of LEED certification, the webcam technology leader is relying on the expertise of LEED Consultants, gk+a Architects, P.C. and Interior Design Consultant, Vanessa DeLeon, to bring the vision for its new green headquarters to reality. With employee well-being at the forefront of EarthCam’s construction plans, a healthy physical work environment remains a top priority. A major emphasis has been put on the indoor environmental quality of the new headquarters, which is a proven contributor to overall comfort and health. EarthCam recently installed a new Sarnafil EnergySmart Roof Membrane to reduce the amount of energy required to keep the air-conditioned facility cooled in warmer temperatures. This high-quality, high strength thermoplastic PVC membrane is constructed with recycled content and meets LEED requirements for Cool Roofing. EarthCam created a time-lapse movie to showcase the installation process from start to finish. In addition, EarthCam is selecting energy-efficient equipment aimed at reducing energy consumption for the facility and is utilizing reclaimed building components and new materials containing recycled content. Building with these objectives in mind, the achievement of this certification would highlight EarthCam’s commitment to corporate sustainability through the implementation of environmentally sound design elements. “We are thrilled to be a part of the dedicated professional team for a client that is committed to sustainable design and construction,” said Oliver Young - AIA, LEED-AP, NCARB, Senior Associate at gk+a Architects, P.C. “EarthCam is leading its industry by example by making corporate sustainability one of its core values and reducing its impact on the environment.” Live views of construction for EarthCam’s new headquarters are available online on a public web page. EarthCam’s project team and subcontractors have the ability to remotely monitor ongoing progress, reducing required travel to the physical jobsite. EarthCam is also using their webcam technology in new and innovative means to assist with the collaboration and monitoring of the LEED process. “It is an honor to be collaborating with an environmentally responsible company like EarthCam to incorporate the latest trends in sustainable design,” said Vanessa DeLeon, Owner of Vanessa DeLeon Associates. “It was an exciting challenge to choose accents and pieces that not only make the space unique, but also speak to the green initiative.” See construction for EarthCam’s new headquarters in Northern New Jersey with live webcam views of the project at www.earthcamhq.com.
